What Is Horsehair Hem?

A horsehair hem is a lightweight polyester netting sewn into the bottom of a dress to add structure and shape. It helps the hem hold its form and creates a slightly fuller finish. This gown can be made with or without a horsehair hem, depending on your preference. Some prefer the added structure, while others choose a softer, flatter hemline.
